2012 first figure works...

I had been stuck in a deep hole. It seemed like bottomless, but it wasn't. I feel my artie mood back these days. I started new pottery projects and went to figure drawing today. Got some white figurines for painting practice. Hope this year is good to me...

small sketches

Friday drawing and painting....

Afternoon session, I tried to practice sketching with brush. I thought, it will be like Alla Prima, but the time was too short, and I couldn't paint over to finish. And I tried like water colour. In the end, I learned it is easy to do for short poses... Both models this day were excellent, and I enjoyed drawing/painting a lot.

Day 5

I touched his hair a bit and a rag and sheep. It doesn't look too bad when I see it from far far away in dark... XD

Day 4

Still yellow shows up strong...

Day 3 (...maybe 4, I forgot...)

I added his facial feature and started first painting, dead colour painting, today. I did't realize that I made his skin tone too yellow until I turned on the light... XD

few things...

The first one is my 4th Bargue drawing (never mind the doodles around... ha-ha-ha). The left one is the construction sketch on the cartridge paper, and articulate it (the middle pic) and transferred to a stonehenge paper, the right pic is 95% completed work.

The 2nd photo is my new project, St.John the baptist by Caravaggio. Still long way to go...

And the last one is my chinese brush sketches. It's been a long time for me to use it, so took a lot of concentration. The left one is 1 hour work and rest 2 are 40 min works... started to loose proportion and likeness.... (>_<)"
